Health & Life Skills
Healthy habits, good decisions, and skills for a strong start in life.

Health and life skills programs develop the capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, help them set personal goals, and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
What We Offer

SMART Moves
This nationally acclaimed comprehensive prevention program helps young people avoid alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, and the choices that lead to negative outcomes. It features interactive small groups designed to increase peer support, enhance life skills, build resiliency, and strengthen leadership, with age-based components for Smart Kids (6 to 9), Start Smart (10 to 12), and Stay Smart (13 to 15).

SMART Girls
An outgrowth of the popular SMART Moves program, SMART Girls is a health, fitness, prevention, education, and self-esteem enhancement program for girls ages 8 to 17.

Passport to Manhood
This program promotes, teaches, and reinforces responsibility and positive behavior in male Club members ages 11 to 14. Passport to Manhood consists of 14 group sessions and activities, each concentrating on a specific aspect of manhood.

Gardening & Cooking Classes
Members learn gardening hands-on — planting produce, understanding nutrition, and preparing healthy meals from the vegetables they harvest.

Choosing the Best
Choosing the Best encourages students to delay sexual activity as the healthiest choice for their physical, emotional, and future well-being.
